Don’t miss understand me, we’re enjoying the summer and the outdoors as much as everyone else, but we’re already looking forward to cooler temperatures, wearing comfy and stylish fall outfits, in particular transitioning between hot, humid and sticky to crisp nights. No matter the season, I tend to stick to elevated basics. Although they may not be the most fun thing to shop for, they are truly the foundation of our wardrobes. These staples you'll wear the most no matter the time of year or occasion. When a new season is approaching, the sartorial-related activity I do first is take stock of my basics and make a list of what I want to replace and add to my collection. Despite how functional they are, the fact of the matter is that basics can be inherently tedious and repetitive, so I'm here to talk about trendy basics.

Trendy basics are those items that work with lots of various outfits because they can mix n match and you'll get tons of wear out of, but they look current and fresh, whether it be an animal print or color of the season, red. Nevertheless, they aren't items that'll go out of style after one season. The word that springs to mind is longevity. Things like fit, fabric, and color are the most useful tools in your styling arsenal—as is having a good tailor on speed dial. There are, of course, little tricks that can make any outfit look more elevated, from ensuring your shirts are always crisp to wearing the colors that look high-quality.

As transitional weather arrives, I'm shopping for a few trendy basics that I can wear now and throughout the fall season—think light jackets, waistcoats, trousers, denim, mules, oversized blazers, boots, cuffs, handbags, trench coats, printed pants, A-line maxi skirts, dresses and more. This well-edited assortment of seven standout items from Net-A-Porter, St. Agni, Cos, Mango, Saks Fifth Avenue are sure to see you through many upcoming occasions.

From trending zebra print to scrunchies and elegant full skirts, I've assembled a cheat sheet below of the items that will have you looking polished and on-trend through the end of summer and into fall. Whether you go for an easy accessory or a statement silhouette, there's something for every taste and budget. So you’re welcome.

In addition, we’re doing an apartment revamp and I'm curating my signature style within my small living space. My fall aesthetic is a combination of delicate and sophisticated, with a slew of neutrals, linen pillows, rattan accents, woven baskets, and luxurious throws are the key design notes I'm experimenting with. Since I only have so much square footage to work with, I have to get creative to maximize my sanctuary's style and function. For starters, new bedding is a must. It will completely transform my bedroom, and little updates to the essentials in my bathroom and living room will do the same for those spaces. It's important that my home décor feels on-trend and stylish, which is why I'm eager to do a full shopping haul. We adore stripe duvet sets, fashion books, jute rugs, and sleek media console all fit the vibe.

On that note, shop our newest arrivals and 34 trendy basics I'm buying this season and recommend you do too ahead of Fall. Keep scrolling to shop these picks and more below.
