As we ring in the new year, we mark the arrival with a clean slate, fresh start and new beginning. While I’m not a huge believer in new years resolutions, I believe, rather in setting new intentions and fresh goals; whether its breaking old toxic habits, forming new healthier ones, releasing unconscious thought-patterns and investing in routines that honor and connect me to my physical and emotional well-being; steadily cultivating a solid foundation for the year ahead.

That said, there’s no better time to resuscitate and revive new life into our daily wardrobes by embracing the latest fashion trends combined with quality wardrobe essentials. Simplicity, ease and subdued elegance are my fashion goals when it comes to everyday dressing these days. To be precise, I cherish outfits that make me feel polished and put-together but require zero effort. Let's be real, when it's frigid and gloomy outside, I'm not always feeling very inspired to assemble anything extraordinary. Instead, I am partial to rely upon a handful of simple yet sophisticated outfit combinations that I can devise easily and will make me look ultra-chic in a matter of minutes.

As I sit down at my desk and prepare to schedule content for the month of October on my google calendar, I suddenly realized I’ve been way too busy to notice that autumn is officially here. Where did the time go? I’ve been contemplating about this season’s trends and which ones I’ll be assimilating into my wardrobe. As per usual, there are copious amounts of trends to choose from, and we preferably like to consider our purchases before we invest rather than the alternative of compulsively buying fleeting trends that will dissolve faster than J.Lo’s marriages. If we're being honest, it can be overwhelming to discern what's worth buying for the season. Do you invest in a brand-new pair of boots? Sumptuous knitwear? Or outerwear? Of course, we are talking longevity here. Whatever your sartorial preference, deciding can be a challenge, even if you've spent time daydreaming about fall. We'd argue that one of the best places to start when it comes to shopping for the fall is with jackets and handbags.

When fall arrives, the calendar is finally giving us the green light of approval to clear out our closets to make room for new staples-we start pulling storage bins out from underneath our beds and opening up our drawers so we can rewear our favorite knits, jeans, and jackets. It's still hot in Los Angeles, but you can never be too prepared when it comes to planning your fall wardrobe, especially if you're stocking up on the latest fall trends. For us fashion editors, it's natural that we flow with the current waves of trends without exception. Although there are dozens of new designs we're eager to try this season, we have to prioritize what's in our daily rotation so we accommodate enough closet space for the spouse. Or at least nefariously pretend to make space. As such, we decided to decipher all the trends our editors are investing in this season and the ones staying in storage.
