Summer Linen

When I first decided to move to Los Angeles, the first thought that entered my mind was how beautiful the weather would be all year round (not really) in conjunction with further misconceptions or common per-conceived notions us easterners have about LA’s urban identity. A place where obsessions with who you date and what you look like solidify you with power and status, where there’s more mini strip malls than bookstores, where lines to buy the next exclusive sneaker release are longer than the lines to vote (damn millennials) and nail salon gossip that consists mainly of which Kardashian said what rather than discussions about local or national politics. To be fair, some notions aren’t true and are conversely misleading about my newly adopted city. What nobody tells you is just how really hot it is out here, marching in these sweltering temps is an ambitious undertaking in this dense concrete jungle. A step every ten feet affirms an ounce of boob sweat (hashtag boob sweat, the struggle is real). It truly tests your endurance. And it makes it difficult for a girl making money moves (listening to Cardi B way too much obvi).
Which is why linen deserves a spot in your wardrobe and remains the predominant fabric of the summer especially since it’s light and breathable to wear. It’s my style policy to acquire as much linen as humanly possible. Pick a blazer in an earthy hue preferably and it will keep you cool all season long. But hey, don’t listen to me; FAKE NEWS! Now, if you stalk me on Instagram like an ex, you’ll notice this net bag I’ve been carrying proudly from Mango has been following me where ever I go. It’s not as heavy as it looks but it’s charming, practical and durable just like I like my men. All white underneath this perfectly cut blazer virtually pulled together by a chestnut brown belt for a fool proof look ushered by my black strappy babies.
Speaking of Instagram, follow me because I will be answering your questions tomorrow on Insta-stories and feel free to check out my latest outfit posts on my page.

Danish Style Maven: Pernille Teisbaek

If you haven’t been paying any attention to street style (or the street style stars) including Instagram trolling (more like stalking), it’s quite possible you’ve hit your head or been living under a fucking rock. But it’s okay to be trailing behind in fashion news, that’s where I step in. My suggestion? Proceed to pouring yourself a glass of wine (in my case, a bottle) and scope out the latest crop of style aristocrats (on for which, recently, Scandinavians have legitimized their place on the royal fashion court. Danish fashion mavens in particular, are mastering remarkable versions of minimalist ideas told on the street in a very subtle and profound way. Appreciation runs deep for the ingenious beauty of clean and simple lines, cocoon shapes as well as ambivalent ones and extraordinary details, often personalizing their own french girl chic with a newfangled twist and ultimately capitalizing on branding the phrase scandi-cool girl vibes. As the leader of the royal succession, is stylist, entrepreneur, jewelry designer, author, and former blogger Pernille Teisbaek, who, in her own right, (thanks to her viking stay-warm genes) has a flair for mixing and layering classic and fun pieces, spawning fresh new hybrids of the cool girl archetype. She defines the meaning of artful dressing.
