The Western Chronicles

Truth be told, I’ve been waiting to wear this transparent ruffle number for a long time now. Buried in the trenches of my closet, I dug it out just in time for fall and it has waited long enough. Wait, Let’s rewind and replay it from the beginning:

Event #1: Obsession takes over my body like the invasion of the body snatchers when my eye caught wind of Dries Van Noton Spring 2016 collection. Immediate need to stalk up on accessories, and feminine details like ruffles to exude all things western.

Event #2: Secondly, admit you have a problem and seek help as quickly as possible. Then, go to your nearest shopaholics anonymous and confess your addiction to western vibes you see in fashion week.

Event #3: While getting dressed in front of your closet in the morning, try not to give in to your daily fix by looking for the belt or the hat to wear in the mirror, pretending you’re Clint Eastwood in The Good, Bad And The Ugly.

Event #4: Then, proceeding to find that perfect clash of feminine vs. masculine top and bottom to channel that inner bad-ass and femme fatale you crave on a weekly basis, to rival with the western belt.

Event #5: Don’t nearly fall while putting the clothes on your back (especially putting on my the skinny jeans and the tight Chloe boots on your feet). You know how it is.

Event #6: Polish it off with the Ray-Ban sunnies to add a dash of coolness to the look. However, don’t air shoot yourself in the mirror by yourself in the closet (god, I’m such a dork, I know, don’t judge). Proceed by looking cool again (even though the previous finger gun humiliation), by sticking your hand in your pocket and posing like you don’t give a damn.

Event #7: Finally, ride off into the sunset like every cowboy does before the end of the movie…

Oh, P.s. Did anyone like any runways from PFW so far? I loved Chloé, Lanvin, Dries Van Noton, Ann Demeulemeester, Rochas, Vetements, and Maison Margiela RTW Spring 2017 Collections. I’m definitively looking forward to more ruffles, stripes, re-worked shirts and various textures and colors. Easy and breezy seems like the feel for Spring.
